The NATO Days will host ground forces from four foreign countries
Once again, the US Armed Forces will not only be represented by the Air Force and the Marine Corps at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days but also by armoured vehicles of the US Army. For the first time in the history of the event, the Mošnov airport will host ground forces and their equipment from four foreign countries.
The US Army follows-up last year, when the United States was a special partner nation and its armoured technology will not miss this year's NATO Days. For the first time at the event, the US Army will present a Stryker vehicle, which some visitors may already know from 2015 when a convoy of the US Army moved across the Czech Republic.
"This year is loaded in terms of ground technology. For the first time, NATO Days will host armoured vehicles from the United States, Romania, Germany and Poland and the Czech Republic," emphasizes Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000. "The participation of Stryker transporter was already in play last year as part of the SPN presentation, but we are happy to see its premiere now."
The eight-wheeled armoured vehicle M1126 Stryker is one of the newer equipment and has been in service since 2002. This transporter is designed primarily as the infantry carrier but can also. Stryker is manufactured in several specialized variants and can be transported by the C-5 Galaxy or the smaller C-130 Hercules.
