NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days

NATO Days in Ostrava take place in close vicinity of Poodří Protected Landscape Area, whose borders cross a roadway between municipalities Albrechtičky and Petřvaldík. Visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava can therefore take a walk in beautiful nature before or after they visit our event. They can also download a smartphone app and learn interesting things about visited places.

Poodří Protected Landscape Area offers a view of the meandring Odra river, ponds with many species of birds and extensive grassland with scattered trees. The area is unique for its conserved waterways where a large part of alluvial plain is flooded regularly every year. On the national level it is unique for the meandering Odra stream with its contiguous system of pools and branches of the river on various levels of silting, as well as for large area of permanent graminaceous vegetation with numerous spread green vegetation (a unique 2,300 ha complex of alluvial meadows), alluvial forests in the alluvial plain (almost 50% consists of oak and ash), oak-hornbeam forests on the terraces of the Odra and finally for its pond networks.

Keep in mind that you are in extremely valuable territory. Please respect the prohibitions and regulations applicable in the protected area. This is essentially a ban for motor vehicles, making fire ban and ban on camping. We especially highlight a ban of entry for motor vehicles in the area of Pasečný most and Oderská lávka in Studénka, violators of which will be prosecuted.
