Municipal Police’s service horses and dogs will show off at Mošnov

This year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days won’t be an exception for the Ostrava Municipal Police’s presentation. The officers will take up the visitors with the whole spectre of their daily work: from service animals’ training to safe weapon handling. Ostrava Municipal Police will be also awarded the ribbon of the Czech Euro-Atlantic Council.

Dynamic displays of both the mounted and dog units are still the catchiest ones, though. The riders always perform techniques of service horses’ training altogether with overcoming jumping obstacles. Quite differently, the dog team performs the arrest of perpetrators in daily situations. This display shows the level of service dog’s demanding training as well as the precise coordination between the handler and the dog.

„The purpose of NATO Days is not only to show off the military equipment, but also to offer the public an opportunity to meet the tasks of all security services, including Ostrava Municipal Police, which is an annual participant of our event,“ stated Zbyněk Pavlačík, CEO of Jagello 2000.

Moreover, NATO Days’ visitors can come to the Ostrava Municipal Police’s tent and see the presentation of the Preventive Activities Team. This section will introduce service equipment as well as officers’ gear, including technical devices. A major attraction will surely become laser shooting range with possibility of trying safe handling of weapons as well as visitors’ shooting skills. Attractive games, competitions and quizzes will be prepared for kids.

Visitors, who choose bike as a mean of transport, will certainly welcome service of three storages with overall capacity of over 10,000 bikes, which will be secured by the Ostrava Municipal Police. During the whole event, police patrols will ensure public order at international cycling route no. 5, which leads directly to the airport area.

Representatives of Ostrava Municipal Police will also receive the ribbon of the Czech Euro-Atlantic Council at the Sunday ceremony for the long-term cooperation at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days.
