NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days

Announcement of changes at the last minute is an integral part of every one big action and it is an issue that cannot be influenced by any organizers. The early warning system aircraft E-3A AWACS squadron of NATO called off this year participation on the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. Positive change is the confirmation of participation of the American flying tanker KC-135.

Alliance radar aircraft from the E-3A Component will not arrive at the vibrant show for the second time. ,, It is very sad message for us. The machine was confirmed and it always enjoyed a great interest of the audience,” said Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of the Jagello 2000. Its participation is impossible because of the large workload across his squadron. “At this moment they all are at the missions and for the time reason none of them can be part of the public show,” explains Pavlačík. ,,Czech ambassador to NATO and  former Deputy Secretary General of NATO Jiří Šedivý has also tried to change the situation.”

We can announce a positive change, too. On the contrary, the American tanker aircraft KC-135 confirmed participation on the static display. It will arrive from RAF Mildenhall together with convertiplane CV-22B Osprey. This aircraft modified for aerial refuelling was already at airport Mošnov and will return after three years. The last time it was showed to the audience was in the year 2011. It was supposed to arrive to Mošov in 2012, but it was called off at the last minute. This year's participation can be seen as his compensation for the previous absence.
