The weekend show of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days is successfully behind us. During Saturday and Sunday of September 22 and 23, 2012, more than 208,000 visitors have come to the Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport. We thank all our visitors for their interest in the event, thanks to which we were able to defend the unofficial status the largest army-air-military show in Central Europe.

While on Saturday the Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport welcomed 90,000 visitors, more than 118,000 came on Sunday of September 23. They could enjoy two days of interesting ground and flying dynamic display and also vast static displays of army, police, municipal police, customs administrations, fire rescue brigade and other security or emergency services.

The most impressive spectacle in the air was presented by the British Red Arrows aerobatics team, for which the visitors had been waiting for six years since its last performance at the Mošnov airfield and also the premiere flying display of the American B-52 Stratofortress strategic bomber. The most interest on ground was gained by the joint Czech and Polish police rapid interventions units, which assaulted a terrorist in the building of the organizational staff or by the traditional mechanized platoon assault by the 7th Mechanized Brigade. There were some many interesting displays that it is not possible to mention them all in the short article.

Now the clean-up of the area begins and on Monday and Tuesday of September 24 and 25 the flying participants are departing. The preparations of the next year are already ongoing and we will again try to offer you the richest and the best programme possible, as well as even better organizational preparations of the event. Therefore we would like to ask for your remarks and experience so that we can make an even better event. We firmly believe that you enjoyed this year’ show and that you will gladly return to the Mošnov airfield next year.

We are looking forward to seeing you at NATO Days in Ostrava and Czech Air Force Days 2013!
