Elite Czech And Slovak Customs Officers to Present Their Cooperation Again

Another highly attractive international dynamic display at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days is going to bring the Operative Deployment Group of the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic and Unit of Service Interventions of the Customs Administration of the Slovak Republic. The Czech customs administration is also going to present its groups of mobile control, training of service dogs and wide static display.

“Displays of the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic, which have been taking place with international partners for several years, belong to one of the most attractive ones in our programme. We are really looking forward to this year’s display of joint intervention against smugglers by special forces of customs officers from the Czech Republic and Slovakia and other customs administration’s display,” Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of the Jagello 2000 Association, which is the main organizer of the event, says.

Mobile groups of customs officers are going to present a display of control of a truck with mobile high-capacity RTG and service dog trained to sniff alcohol and tobacco. Visitors are going to have a chance to familiarize themselves with the dogs at area of “small dynamics” D02. “The area of small dynamic display is a place for finding out about training of service dogs to sniff drugs, tobacco, alcohol, bank notes, CITES protected subjects or weapons and ammunition, which we conduct in Training centre of World Customs Organization,” Major Jiří Barták from the General Customs Directorate of the Czech Republic notes.

 The massive display of the customs administration is supplemented by a rich static display. “In framework of NATO Days in Ostrava we present a wide exposition of fruits of our later to the general public, such as seized cigarettes, alcohol or machines used for illegal manufacture or counterfeit goods,” Major Barták adds. “Then the customs officers are going to allow the visitors to find our about laboratory testing of various goods, about difficulty of finding concealed goods in car or bodies of smugglers and visitors will have a chance to try their chances in differencing counterfeit goods from originals.”

The Customs Administration of the Czech Republic is one of armed security services and its activities are a part of customs supervision system over good in united customs area of the European Union. It is also exclusive administrator of excise taxes or it has special authorization in control of freight traffic. “The customs administration also has significant duties concerning protection of national cultural heritage, especially in are of export of cultural relics, collections, archive items, etc.,” Major Barták points out an interesting role of the customs administration.

Visitors can also turn to the customs administration for advice and consultation during NATO Days in Ostrava, for example if they need advice with export of goods or customs procedures.
