Dutch F-16 Demo Team Not to Miss Out NATO Days Again

30.08.2013, 10:54

The famous orange F-16 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Demo Team will be again making head-turning passes, turns and loops over the visitors this year.

“It will be the Team’s already sixth presentation at NATO Days in Ostrava in a row. Yet, it is always a display that we greatly appreciate every year. It never gets old also thanks to the change of display pilots and the continuously modified display sequence,” comments Zbyněk Pavlačík, head of the Jagello 2000 association, main organizer of the show. “As was the case last year, this September’s presentation will be made again by Cpt. Stefan “Stitch” Hutten and we believe he will further push the performance,” adds Pavlačík.

Thanks to its elegant curves and high manoeuvrability, the F-16 aircraft is a perfect plane for aerobatic displays.  Apart from the Dutch team, the NATO Days visitors could so far admire the mastery of the US Viper East Demo team and the Turkish F-16 SOLOTURK.

The Dutch Demo Team in national orange colour always presents the best of the F-16, pushing the envelope to the edge. Although the F-16 can fly supersonically, it will not cross the sound barrier during the show, for security reasons. “Although some fans keep asking for it, the supersonic boom in such a low altitude could damage health of our visitors and some equipment as well,” adds Pavlačík.
