Czech Army’s Ground Forces Are the Largest Participant of NATO Days

18.09.2013, 11:29

As every year, the Ground Forces of the Czech Army are going to present themselves with the largest static and dynamic display and they are going to provide crucial organizational support.

“The Ground Forces of the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR) are a key participant of the show. Not only they make up for a large share of ground static and dynamic display, they also provide huge logistical support or they take part in planning of the event,” Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of the Jagello 2000 Association, which is the main organizer of the event, says.

The Ground Forces of the ACR are going to present an attractive display of assault of mechanized platoon from the 7th Mechanized Brigade. The heavy vehicles of the brigade are going to introduce themselves individually, that is in a display of driving characteristics of T-72M4CZ modernized tank. The Training Command – Military Academy Vyškov is going to present driving characteristics of modern wheeled armoured carrier PANDUR II 8x8 and light armoured vehicles Dingo and Iveco.

It is only a start of displays by ground forces. Several of them are going to be provided by the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion, whose paratroopers are going to jump off CASA C-295 aircraft during the ceremonial opening and then also from Mi-171Š helicopter on Saturday as well. The recon paratroopers from Prostějov are going to present a display of heliborne assault from Mi-171Š helicopters with hostage taking with support from Mi-24/35 helicopter. The 15th Combat Engineers Brigade is then going to present a practical display of activities of T-815 ACHR 90 CO vehicle in decontamination of vehicle.

“In the large list of dynamic displays by the ACR’s Ground Forces we cannot forget the premiere display of loading of Pandur II armoured carrier into Ruslan aircraft,” Pavlačík adds. “This display is going to take place on Saturday and Sunday as well at 10 and 14 o’clock and we greatly thank the Czech Army for its contribution, thanks to which the Ruslan aircraft will be available for the visitors and we can also present this unique display. It is a very practical activity, which our army does regularly in framework of foreign operations.”

The Ground Forces of the ACR are going to present a huge amount of its vehicles and equipment at the static display, one which outshines all other participants. The ground forces also provide several important parts of the event’s organization. It is a huge logistic support, participation in crisis management and organizational staff of the event, providing of radio network and more. “Without overstatement we can say that the event would not be possible without this huge support,” Pavlačík notes.
