NATO Days in Ostrava & Days of the Czech Air Force has again proved its exceptionality!

The Attendance on XIX. NATO Days in Ostrava & X. Days of the Czech Air Force exceeded 220,000 spectators. This number has become a long-term standard. The weekend program of NATO Days culminated with the presentation of an award for the best flight display according to the viewers' vote for Ivan Kardoš and Martin Šonka. The award for presented by the Mayor of Ostrava Tomáš Macura. Their exceptional show, which they performed during a joint performance of JAS-39 Gripen and Extra 300, was perceived as an acknowledgement by the audience for their long-term confidence. NATO Days clearly demonstrate that they belong to Europe's top military shows.

This year, the international prestige of the event was underscored by the participation of 17 countries. Their units presented an attractive program whith 70 dynamic displays in the air and on the ground and a total length of 16 hours. The program of XIX. NATO Days in Ostrava & X. The Czech Air Force Days celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Alliance. The sites for ground-based dynamic displays were crowded with visitors curious to see every performance of military and law enforcement services. Their machinery and equipment were often cover by crowds of visitors eager to see it or try it.

At the same time, I would like to thank all those, who support our event and who are organizationally involved in it, ”said Zbyněk Pavlačík, chairman of Jagello 2000, the main organizer of the event.

 

NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days have become a meeting place for the general public, as well as for security experts, officials and diplomats. Participants were, for example, Jan Hamáček - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic, Karel Havlíček - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Lubomír Metnar - Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic, Alena Schillerová - Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic. For the first time, on the occasion of NATO Days, the Defence Ministers of the V4 countries met to discuss the defence issues. The event also strengthens friendship across different armed forces from different countries. This will be no different next year at the 20th anniversary of the event.
