NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days

Rain, water and clouds in many shades of grey are a common denominator of all pictures awarded in a photo contest of this year’s NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days. Slovakia as a Special Partner Nation also appears on two of images that a jury chose as the best ones.

We would like to thank to all visitors of this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days who have sent their pictures to the event's photo competition. On Sunday 24 September 2017, we learned about the tragic and fatal accident of Capt. Gabriele Orlandi during his public display flight with the Eurofighter Typhoon during Terracina Airshow in Italy.

The 17th NATO Days in Ostrava & 8th Czech Air Force Days, which took place under very complicated weather conditions, have ended. Our thank you goes to all who participated in the event and who helped with its organisation. 

Despite the inclement weather, over 65 000 people paid a visit to today's programme of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days in order to see, besides other things, the dynamic display of the Saudi Hawks aerobatic team. The performance was, unfortunately, cancelled due to low cloud that occurred in the display area, nevertheless, it still stays on tomorrow's programme. 

Although the venue of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days woke up into rainy morning, visitors do not need to worry about any changes in today's programme of dynamic displays. 

This year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days are coming close and although the weather forecasts have not been ideal so far, visitors do not in any case need to be worried about cancellation of the weekend programme. The whole event has been prepared intensively over the year which is reflected, among other things, in the range of static displays that will bring numerous foreign premieres. 

Visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days can look forward to a strong presence of Bell Helicopter. At its stand, expert visitors will have the opportunity to see static models of its UH-1Y, AH1-Z and V-22 models, as well as its newest V-280 model. Bell will also hold a virtual reality demonstration, which will simulate the experience of a Bell UH-1Y combat helicopter pilot during a combat mission.
