Visitors can look forward to police commando intervention display
Another pull for visitors of NATO Days in Ostrava is a joint display of police intervention unit from Ostrava and SPAP intervention unit from Katowice in Poland. They will present another of their attractive displays, and again even with airdrop from Mi-8 helicopter of the Polish police.
“Dynamic displays of special intervention units belong every year to the most sought-after highlight of the show. In recent years, policemen from the Intervention unit of the Regional Police Headquarters of the Moravian-Silesian Region and their Polish colleagues from the SPAP Katowice unit presented displays of interventions against hijacked airplane and bus. This year is their display a surprise for the visitors, however we are sure it will be one of the show’s highlights again,” Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of the Jagello 2000 Association, which organizes NATO Days in Ostrava, commented the intervention units’ display and he added: “At the same time we have to thank the Police of the Czech Republic for their significant support with organization of the event, especially for their role in traffic measures during the event.”
The Police of the Czech Republic is one of the event’s organizers, which looks after security of the event and as smooth traffic for the visitors as possible. Besides these and other activities it also provides convoys of VIPs and especially with participants of the event, pilots and aircrews with police escorts.
Besides the dynamic display of the intervention units and the organizational role, the police will present dynamic display of the Riot Unit of the Regional Police Headquarters of the Moravian-Silesian Region and also a dynamic display of Volkswagen Passat car used by highway departments of the police. Further equipment and vehicles of the police will be presented in a rich static display, in which the visitors can learn about functioning of the police, their activities, learn about correct attitudes towards various risk, or they can simply talk with the policemen and see the police from a different angle than it can be seen during their duty on the streets.
