Reconnaissance and electronic warfare brigade with rich participation at NATO Days in Ostrava

05.09.2012, 12:02

The 53rd Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare Brigade is going to present itself to visitors of the event at Mošnov airfield again. The visitors can look forward to static displays of its equipment and to a dynamic display of a raid with capturing an enemy combatant.

“The dynamic display of a raid with capturing an enemy combatant will be presented by the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion, which is a part of the 53rd Brigade. This display is very attractive for the spectators and it is also attractive because the soldiers are going to be dropped off from a helicopter,” Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of the main event’s organizer – the Jagello 2000 Association, further explained the display. “We are naturally delighted from this joint air force and reconnaissance battalion display and we hope the visitors will like it too,” he added.

The display of the 53rd Reconnaissance and EW Brigade is going to start with a simulated attack of Mi-24 attack helicopter, which is going to secure the landing zone. Then two Mi-171Š helicopters are arriving and dropping off two assault teams of the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion and after taking-off again they support the troops with machineguns from helicopter doors. The first assault team advances towards the enemy structure, while the second is drawing the enemy’s attention with fire. When the enemy object is suppressed and enemies and documents captured the assault teams retreat and are picked up by Mi-171Š helicopters again.

Then the brigade is going to present static display of its subordinate units – the 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion and the 532nd Electronic Warfare Battalion. The 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion is going to present a Land Rover Defender 130 KAJMAN vehicle, an IVECO 4x4 light armoured fighting vehicle and a Raven RQ-11B reconnaissance UAV. The 532nd Battalion is going to introduce the visitors to modern electronic warfare and is going to present a RUP FM M mobile reconnaissance-guiding system, KV and VKV bands jammers and a STAR-V jammer mounted on IVECO vehicle, which is used in foreign operations to jam signals for improvised explosive devices.
