F-16 SOLOTURK for the first time in Central Europe

09.04.2012, 17:09

New Turkish Air Force display team - the F-16 SOLOTÜRK - has become the latest top addition to this year's NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days programme. The team is poised to make its debut appearance in Central Europe at Ostrava.

Despite the fact that the team has been established only last year to commemorate the centennial of the Turkish Air Force, its performances already rank among the world top-class. Like the Dutch Demo Team, the SOLOTÜRK flies the F-16 fighter aircraft as well. The Royal Netherlands Air Force uses the jet's MLU version, while the Turkish Air Force the C Block 40 variant. Thanks to the participation of both national display teams, the visitors will have a unique chance to enjoy and compare the mastery of their pilots.

“The Turkish Stars aerobatic team has stolen the show and won the spectators' hearts last year. We are very grateful for the Turkish Air Force renewed participation at NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days this year, even more so with yet another Central European premiere by their display teams. We firmly believe that the SOLOTÜRK will be the same highlight this year as the Turkish Stars were last year,” comments Zbyněk Pavlačík from Jagello 2000 association, main organizer of the September show.

The F-16 SOLOTÜRK aircraft has an attractive livery which makes even the sole watching it a very pleasing experience.
