Dutch F-16 Demo Team returns to Mosnov

04.04.2012, 17:15

Visitors of the NATO Days in Ostrava & Czech Air Force Days can look forward to see for the fifth time the dynamic display of the F-16 Demo Team from the Netherlands. As always, the excellent performance is to be expected, this time with new display pilot again.

According to the internal rules of the Demo Team, pilots and other members change with a two-year frequency. This year will be the first, when Captain Stefan "Stitch" Hutten will sit in the cockpit. His couch and teamleader will be Captain Ralph "Sheik" Aarts, who may be well-known to NATO Days' visitors, because he was the display pilot in the very first performances of F-16 Demo Team at Mosnov in 2008 and 2009.

"We are of course very glad that this aerial team returns to us. It rightly belongs among the world's best aerobatic teams with F-16 aircraft and its performace highlights every air show,“ Zbynek Pavlacik from Jagello 2000 Association comments the Dutch participation. "And we are also pleased that 'Sheik' returns too, because he is very familiar to us", he adds.

The performance of the Dutch team is attractive for many reasons. First, F-16 is a plane with great manoeuvrability and elegant look, what is why it is so popular for aerobatic demostrations. Second, the Dutch always shows their mastery in the machine's control and flight on the edge of its abilities. And when you add the third, unmistakable "camouflage" in national orange colour and using of flares, the result is really extraordinary show.
