Win Exclusive Trip to Top Air Show in Scottish Town of Leuchars!
For the third time in a row, NATO Days in Ostrava will again host a unique competition for an exclusive prize. This year, the organizers in cooperation with the iDNES internet portal have tried to put together something truly attractive – an extended weekend trip for two persons to the Scottish town of Leuchars associated with the visit to one of the most prestigious Air Shows organized in the United Kingdom.
This year’s winners will get the chance not only to relish an unrepeatable Scottish atmosphere including its metropolis, Edinburgh, but also the spectacular Royal Air Force Leuchars Air show organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Air Force. What is more, the winners will be accommodated at RAF Leuchars in traditional Officer’s Mess. The trip will take place on the weekend of September 13th and 14th, 2008, a week before NATO Days in Ostrava.
“Last year, we were very pleased with the success of the competition for a weekend trip to the Scottish base in Leuchars. We are very glad that we have agreed with the base on such a extended form of cooperation this year,” said Zbynek Pavlacik, the Chairman of the Jagello 2000 Association.
The Leuchars Air show will feature a complete display of the Royal Air Force, including the Red Arrows aerobatic group, the Black Cats helicopter aerobatic group, the Typhoon Demo Team, and certainly the Royal Air Force Memorial Flight presenting legendary aircraft of World War II – Spitfire, Hurricane, and Lancaster.

On a static display, visitors to the Leuchars Air Show can look forward to the B-52 strategic bomber operated by the U.S. Air Force and other aircraft. For more information, please visit the website of the Air Show at: www.airshow.co.uk.
The Jagello 2000 Association will provide the winners a return air ticket from Prague to Edinburgh, transportation to RAF Leuchars, admission to the entire program of the Air Show, accommodation in Officer’s Mess, and allowance of 40 £ a day. In addition, the winners will be accompanied by a Jagello 2000 representative who will take care of all organizational matters as well as eventually gladly help out with interpreting.
This year’s winners, similarly to their predecessors, can besides the weekend trip to RAF Leuchars look forward to the visit of Ostrava associated with NATO Days in Ostrava where they will be treated as VIP guests. “I believe that this year’s winners will share their unrepeatable experiences with visitors to the Saturday program of our this year’s event,” Pavlacik added.
The exclusive competition will take place at the iDNES internet portal, a significant media partner of NATO Days in Ostrava, in the period of August 18th – August 31st, 2008. “The commencement will be reminded soon enough so you will not miss this unique opportunity,” Pavlacik added. To get into the final drawing, contestants will have to register and answer several simple questions posted at the iDNES internet portal.
This year’s competition will build on its two previous editions. In 2006, the winner, Olga Stajnrtova from Prague, experienced an adrenaline adventure as she got a flight in a Mi-35 helicopter of the legendary Tiger squadron and a ride in a T-72M4 CZ tank operated by the Czech Army. A year later, Lubomir Marek from the Mlada Boleslav city along with his girl friend experienced an unforgettable weekend at RAF Leuchars.
